On 11/18, we met with representatives from the following two-year colleges: Harold Washington College and Arrupe College of Loyola University Chicago. We talked about applications, arts programs, scholarships, and student life.
Here are some major takeaways:
Two-year college is a flexible, affordable option for many. Every year, Marwen students choose to pursue their Associate’s degree at two-year colleges with a plan to transfer to a four-year university or art school to obtain their Bachelor’s degrees.
Both Harold Washington College and Arrupe College have partnerships with four-year colleges that support students in transferring, providing campus access and scholarships.
City Colleges like Harold Washington offer the STAR scholarship, which covers tuition and books, for CPS students with at least a 3.0 GPA.
Arrupe College offers DREAM.US scholarship, which is available for undocumented students and DACA students. The scholarship can be transferred to local four-year colleges after your time at Arrupe, such as IIT, UIC, North Park U, Lewis U, NEIU, and Dominican University.
Feel free to contact any of the college representatives below to talk through your interests, ask questions, etc!
