Cass (she/they) is a rising 8th grader who has taken courses at Marwen since she was in 6th grade! Cass has taken classes like No Cap Creatives: Acrylic Painting, Prints and Chills: Spooky Printmaking, and City Scenes, Street Photography where they not only learned how to take fantastic photos but also add their own twist to them.
"One of my favorites is photography, because I learned how to edit, to learn to love my art, and different techniques and art styles. I also took pictures of other parts of the city I've never been to! It was very enjoyable!"

In printmaking, Cass made some very cool multi-layered works that showcased their drawing skills. Cass' little-known talent is that they can draw in the dark!

Cass has tried lots of different art styles at Marwen, the most recent being fiber arts in our Puppet Studio: Crafting Characters class. When asked what she would recommend to someone who is just starting out at Marwen and might be a little nervous to explore their artistic side, she gave these encouraging words:
"I would let them know that it's very fun and a creative way to know how to see different styles of art."
Marwen young artists bring boundless creativity and enthusiasm into the studios, and now they can submit their art and ideas to be featured around the building and on social media! Marwen's Young Artist Spotlight series offers young people an opportunity to promote themselves and their art to the Marwen community and beyond.
Each term (Spring, Summer, and Fall), we will choose one high school and one middle school artist to feature. Young people can submit their work by completing the survey below.
