Grob (he/him) is an 8th grader who has taken a variety of Marwen classes and is exploring every art form possible! Grob took classes like Drawing Fundamentals, Prints and Chills: Spooky Printmaking, and Pixel Perfect: Digital Photo Adventures.
"I love all types of art, but I suppose visual -- specifically pen/pencil/marker and gouache -- are some of my favorites. The classics. I also love linocut (block printing, etc.) and any kind of sculpture, primarily digital and ceramics sculpting."

In addition to visual arts, Grob is also a capable coder in C++ and draws inspiration from many people and places -- friends, a variety of other artists, and psychological horror media. As an artist who is inspired by many things and driven to learn, Grob describes himself as full of joy, love, and whimsy.

In Prints and Chills: Spooky Printmaking, Grob used a plethora of materials at no cost, which he felt allowed him to explore the medium in greater depth. He created pieces that he truly enjoyed and was proud of. We asked Grob for some advice he'd give to newcomers looking to discover what Marwen has to offer:
"Go for it!! Marwen being free and having tons of materials alongside wonderful teachers is perfect for anyone, beginner or not. It really broadens horizons."
Marwen young artists bring boundless creativity and enthusiasm into the studios, and now they can submit their art and ideas to be featured around the building and on social media! Marwen's Young Artist Spotlight series offers young people an opportunity to promote themselves and their art to the Marwen community and beyond.
Each term (Spring, Summer, and Fall), we will choose one high school and one middle school artist to feature. Young people can submit their work by completing the survey below.
