Meet Olivia Villa: Speedy Sketcher and Charcoal Artist

Writer: marwenartsmarwenarts

Olivia is a 7th grader who has been developing her drawing skills at Marwen. She is learning techniques for drawing with charcoal in our Speedy Sketching class and has had a lot of fun learning how to incorporate shadows and light into her pieces.

Olivia loves developing her skills in realism and perspective drawings of buildings, both inside and out. An avid doodler, Olivia finds inspiration in everyday objects and tattoos, which she works to recreate using different mediums.

Olivia also offered some advice to folks who might not be sure about which Marwen classes they want to take:

"Try it out because they might or might not like it, but it’s always a possibility they might like it. So, just try!"

Along with Speedy Sketching, Olivia has taken classes including Not Your Basic Stitch: Embroidery, Animation Journey, and 3D Printed Jewelry. She is currently enrolled in a basket weaving course, and her art will be on view at the Spring Exhibition Celebration after the end of term!
